What makes Oracle Vision special? Without doubt, it’s our people. Our team know their stuff, they’re lovely people, and they’re trusted by the companies we work with to be there when they need them. So, who’s in this dream team? To shed a little light on one of our leading ladies, we took five minutes over a brew to ask some questions. Meet Annette Daniel, our Account Manager and resident rambler (on the hills, that is!).
What superhero skills do you bring to the Oracle Vision dream team?
My passion is helping people, and that’s my focus in everything I do as an Account Manager. I want to ensure the companies I support can protect their business and their livelihoods. I really care about them and want to make sure they’re looked after. That’s why I love the culture here at Oracle Vision – it’s about being friendly and helpful, rather than making a quick sale.
Have you always known you’re a security superhero?
No! When I left school I was a hair stylist. After a couple of years I decided it wasn’t for me and went in search of something different. I started doing evening courses and found an Admin Assistant job. In my early 20s I was hungry to progress – money and job title were important to me so I worked really hard, moving through the ranks to Project Manager and looking after a team of 30 people in a call centre. I then made the leap into security, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Are you still ‘hungry’?
I am always hungry….literally! I am a strong believer that having goals keeps you motivated and constantly striving for more. However, saying that, as I have got older, got married, had kids and bought a house, I’ve learned it’s not all about money and a job title. Instead, it’s about job security and happiness, both in your role and within the company you work for. We spend more time at work than with our own families, so you need to be happy!
What drew you to Oracle Vision?
I have worked with Nick (our superstar Sales Manager) a few times over the years and we have always stayed in touch. He was constantly telling me how amazing Oracle Vision is. I believed him, so here I am, living the dream with our Oracle family!
What do you do when you’re not here?
I love spending time with my ‘other’ family. I have two daughters aged 8 and 12, and we love playing games, cuddling up for a movie and baking together. We love the Great British Bake Off! I’m also a keen walker and head out onto the fells or to our local reservoirs most weekends with friends and family. I also love red wine and cheese – these are my current favourite things during this pandemic!
If you could spend the day with someone famous, living or dead, who would it be and what would you guys do?
I’d love to spend the day with David Attenborough. I feel there isn’t enough time to travel the world, so we would have a lovely meal and we would talk about all the amazing places he’s visited. I’d have to bring my daughter Evie, as she is obsessed with him too. I’d ask him bring pictures of the different animals and places he has seen. Our favourites would be added to our family bucket list!
