Town Centre and public space VSS support is highly specialist work with many security companies not having the expertise or experience. Not so at Oracle Vision. Which is why Bury town centre chose us to partner with us.

Our highly trained team offered the specialist services and equipment required, backed by the engineering knowhow and multifaceted project management that meant we could overcome every challenge such as working on busy high streets, roads and dual carriageways.

As well as our experience supporting town centre systems, Bury Council also appreciated the way we partner with local authorities. Especially the way that we focused on an open and transparent relationship at every level, including service level agreements, safety processes and contract management.

In addition, we offered a fresh approach to town centre systems in terms of design and maintenance. This allowed us to work alongside Bury’s system operators and management team to keep their new system productive, operational and economically viable. All within a tight budget, while offering a solution that considered long-term feasibility.

As with similar town centres we’ve worked on, Bury’s requirements were a complex technical mix of fibre optic cabling, wireless connections and multi-operator central control VSS, fault and installation responses. Together, these meant that our experienced engineers and service support personnel needed to create an ‘always on’ system regardless of the technical and logistical challenges.

Technologies used:

• Ultra High Definition VSS – the ultimate in evidence capture
• Smart Graphical User Interface (GUI) Control for intuitive operator system management
• Integrated platforms bring together multiple disciplines into one complete automated system including VSS, ANPR, car park control and people counting
• Wireless Networks – for out of reach areas with little or no data connection. A low cost and fast solution to connect cameras
• Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) – using technology to automatically respond to known and unknown vehicles based upon their number plates for services such as access control, delivery management, parking supervision etc.

Throughout the project it was vital to keep plans on track for success. With this in mind, we incorporated our free online project management software (ExtraNet) which allows real-time updates on all aspects of the contract. This ability to know that everything was working or being worked on was extremely important to ensure schedules were followed and targets met.

Thanks to not just the system we installed, but also the way we worked, Bury Council have continued to use our services, seeing us as their long-tern security partner.
